Customer Service Field Assistant

The main purpose of this position is to allocate material on order with the goal of expediting the pulling and shipping process. You will communicate with the sales team throughout the day informing them of problems as well as recommending substitutes when necessary. The position is primarily outdoors, in all weather conditions. You can expect to walk a minimum of 5 miles per day.

Great Lakes Landscape Supply is a rapidly growing company based out of Cedar Springs Michigan. We specialize in wholesale sales to the landscape trade. We sell trees, shrubs, perennials, natural stone, concrete products, and more. We have 50+ acres of ready-to-sell plant material ranging from 3’ shrubs to 5” caliper trees. vendors, and employees.
Essential Functions
- Assist with the facilitation of orders involving b&b as well as potted trees
- Assist staff/customers with inventory questions
- Maintain and manage inventory of 50+ acres of material
- Ensure material is of satisfactory condition before shipment
- Take customers on tours of the facility
- Recognize problems and address them accordingly
- Prepare plant material for shipment
Experience
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Knowledge of basic plant biology
- Problem-solving capabilities
- Organizational skills
- Thorough communication
- Ability to work independently
- Speak Spanish (would be helpful, but not required)
